Come join us for the spirited discussion of the new cine-version of the cult Leo Tolstoy's novel "Anna Karenina". This Round Table is co-organized by the "Russkiy Mir" Center and the Department of Slavic Languages at Georgetown University.

You have to be there if:

• You admired / were disgusted / fascinated / puzzled by the new Tom Stoppard's and Joe Wright's interpretation of the novel;
• You want to comprehend what this filming has added to the existing wide array of "Anna Karenina's" interpretations.
• You need to understand why this story and this character keep attracting film directors, actors/actresses and spectators/readers.  

The TENTATIVE program of the Round Table:

1. Award ceremony for the winners of the on-line contest about "Anna Karenina" (the novel and the film).

2. Dr. Milla Fedorova. (Department of Slavic Languages). "English Anna through Russian Eyes: Russian critics and general audience on the new Anna Karenina".

3. Natalia Krylova. (American Councils for International Education). "Madame Karenina is Us: An overview of Tolstoy's novel's cinematic adaptations".    

4. Dr. Svetlana Grenier. (Department of Slavic Languages). "Lost and Found in Translation: From Novel to Film". 

5. Open mic: Free discussion.
