 January 28, 2012 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. A poet is alive as long as his poetry lives. Vladimir Vysotsky once promised his fans: "I am sure to return Full of songs, friends along..." Now you have a wonderful chance to relive Vysotsky's poetry by attending the celebration of his birthday at the "Russkiy Mir" Center. At the end of January 2012, Vadim Astrakhan, a talented translator and performer from New Jersey will present his new album "Vysotsky in English". It will be his premier performance in Washington, DC, after Pittsburgh, Boston, New York, Salt-Lake-City, Edinburgh, Copenhagen and a number of Russian cities have already been fortunate enough to enjoy it. Come join us and bring your American friends to experience this joyful immersion into Russian culture and become a witness to the integration of Vysotsky's poetry into American culture. N.B. Unlike most of the "Russkiy Mir" Center events, this performance will take place in the Large conference room, on the twelfth floor of our 1828 L Street building.
